 The international arena of pop music will receive a big surprise in 2008 when Samantha Jade steals their hearts and arrests their attention. The 20-year-old from Perth in West Australia has already developed a following as an in-demand model, gracing her country's top magazines, catalogs, television programs and "fashion parades" with her vibrant charm and looks.
Samantha is now ready to blossom before fans and tastemakers alike as a captivating superstar with her unique blend of hot club jams and powerhouse ballads.
Samantha Jade was born in 1987 to an Anglo-Indian father and a Scottish mother. So striking was her unique look that, upon winning modeling courses in a silent auction, Sam was signed to the Young Set Model Academy at age 4, swiftly ascending to one of Europe's most recognizable young faces.
Ever humble and charitable, Samantha honed her beauty more for good causes than for profit. She was named Cystic Fibrosis Model of the Year three times in 1992, 1994 & 1995. But with so much more to offer, the fashion world was merely the starting point for Samantha Jade. She was surrounded by family and friends that simply, yet passionately loved music.
In their homes, a four-alarm party could break out at the drop of a hat. All it took was for someone to slip Wild Cherry's "Play That Funky Music" on the box before everyone within earshot was in the living room singing along, shaking their booties and having a ball. Better than the house parties, though, were the spontaneous jam sessions where everyone brought out their musical instruments either at home or in family friendly clubs.
These get-togethers were several steps removed from karaoke with a lot of bright shining talent on display - all for the pure love of music. Before everyone's astounded eyes, Samantha would soak it all up, then open her mouth and blow them all away with 100% all-natural talent. At age 9, she won a talent competition singing the gospel standard "Amazing Grace."
Soon after, she beat out hundreds of hopefuls to play the role of "Louisa" in a production of Rogers and Hammerstein's "The Sound of Music." Her accomplishments were documented everywhere from the Sunday Times & West Australian newspapers to the Channel 7 News (Australia).
Following an avalanche of acclaim for her astounding vocal prowess and stage presence, Samantha has been working closely with chart-topping writers and producers in the United States to perfect a sound that will make her a household name around the globe.
While Samantha Jade is preparing for the release of her Jive Records debut CD, she is also perfecting her Òpen to the padÓ talents by writing songs for her release, as well as songs for established artists. Samantha's songwriting talents can be heard on the soundtrack to the blockbuster film, Shark's Tale starring Will Smith. She penned the Silky produced song, Secret Love for pop recording artist, Jo Jo.
Sharing her philosophy on song content, Samantha states, "I appreciate artists like Stevie Wonder who write and sing songs that inspire people to think beyond themselves. I learned important life lessons through most of my favorite songs. In my music, I want to encourage people to live life to the fullest everyday, and to pursue their dreams."
