Interview with Amanda Williams
Hair Stylist for the Wichita Kansas Star Party
Samanthajadefans.com was able to get a exclusive interview with Amanda, the hair stylist that Did Samantha's hair for her Performance in Wichita Kansas Star Party Concert on October 7, 2007. Check it out below...
First off Amanda I want to Thank you so much for taking out time to Answer these Questions For us. Can you please tell everyone a little about yourself...
Where you are from?
I was born and raised in Wichita, Kansas. It's a nice town, plenty of ways to branch out in the hair business.
How long have you been Doing hair?
Five fun filled years.
Why did you decide to pursue a career in being a hair stylist?
Growing up, I used to cut my barbie doll's hair. I think that was my first clue. Except barbie hair doesn't lay down like human hair so all of my dolls sported the 'Kramer' from Seinfeld look!
What Projects have you done?
I've done a lot of hair for fashion shows and hair shows. I also am in the "Look Good, Feel Better" program for the American Cancer Society. It's a way to show female cancer patients beauty techniques to boost their self-image.
What was your favorite project you have done so far?
Working with Kayne Gillaspie from Project Runway was very cool. He had a fashion show and I helped do the hair for the models, then did a little walk myself down the runway when no one was looking!
Recently you worked With Jive artist Samantha Jade At the Channel 96.3 Star Party Can you tell everyone a little about that experience...
How was it working With Samantha?
Samantha was a doll! Very sweet, great hair and loved the accent! I would do her hair again anytime!
Did you do the hair The Whole Show?
Her hair is tame enough I styled it at the beginning and made sure to use the right products so it would last the whole night.
How long was it for you to do her hair for?
It took about an hour to blow dry and style
Can you tell everyone what you did to her hair?
We wanted it big and beautiful so using some root boost and round brushes, I gave Samantha lots of body. Then I straightened and smoothed the ends and teased the top a little for added volume.
Whats next for you?
I'll be working a hair show here in Wichita on November 3rd and 4th.

Samanthajadefans.com was able to get a exclusive interview with Sarah, the makeup artist that Did Samantha's make-up for her Performance in Wichita Kansas Star Party Concert on October 7, 2007. Check it out below...
First off Sarah I want to Thank you so much for taking out time to Answer these Questions For us. Can you please tell everyone a little about yourself...
Where you are from?
Born and raised here in Wichita, KS. No Dorthy here, but a few tornadoes!
How long have you been Doing makeup?
I've only been in the business a little over 2 years.
Why did you decide to pursue a career in being a makeup artist?
I've always been interested but life didn't take me there until after my second child was born and I decided I was going to pursue my passion. I was tired of working to pay the bills and not being happy. So my husband told me to go for it!
What Projects have you done?
That's what is great about my job, I get to work from several different angles. I have worked on a few commercial shoots, done makeup at a Fashion Show with Kane Gillispie (Project Runway), worked with Forbes Magazine to shoot Charles Koch (#9 on the top 10 Richest), and recently with Samantha Jade for her concert. I also work with a lot of brides on their wedding day.
What was your favorite project you have done so far?
It would defiantly be Samantha Jade.
Recently you worked With Jive artist Samantha Jade At the Channel 96.3 Star Party Can you tell everyone a little about that experience...
How was it working With Samantha?
Honestly I was very nervous going into it. This was my first time working with a music artist and I didn't know what to expect. However, as soon as she walked in her dressing room all was calm. She really is a very sweet and funny girl. I brought my 11 year old daughter with me and she was great with her.
Did you do the makeup The Whole Show?
We only worked with Samantha before she went on. There were 3 different artist and she was the only female, so mine and the hair stylist jobs were fairly simple.
How long was the Makeup Process for?
I only spent about thirty minutes doing makeup. Samantha has beautiful skin so she didn't need much help from me. We really worked on playing up those eyes. The hair took much longer. She has lots of it! lol
Whats next for you?
Right now I just go to work everyday at the salon to see my clients. I'm constantly taking classes to further myself because even in Makeup there is always something new to learn. That way when the phone rings and someone needs me I can give them my best.

Interview with Sara C. Hernandez
Makeup Artist from the Music Video
"Turn Around" SamanthaJadefans.com was able to get a exclusive Interview with Sara, the makeup artist for Samantha's debut video "Turn Around".
Check it out below!
Can you please tell everyone a little about yourself...
- Where you are from?
- How long have you been Doing makeup?
- Why did you decide to pursue a career in being a makeup artist?
- What movies or shows have you done?
- What was your favorite project you have done so far?
I'm from San Antonio Texas, and I've been doing makeup for 7 years...I started during college at the age of 19.
I decided to become a makeup artist because I discovered this talent that came so easily...yet made people feel so happy and pretty and good about themselves. It's really immediate gratification and I love making people happy.
Well of course I just keyed Samantha's latest video Turn Around! Also I keyed (I was the makeup designer and department head) my first feature film American Son starring Nick Cannon and Melonie Diaz. That was an amazing experience, I love being the boss! I've also been on tour with Prince, Prince was my first big break. I love him and I would not be where I am today without him. He's such a giving person and always open to new talented artists. Ive also worked on Ciara's like a boy video, and Chris Brown Wall to Wall...just to name a few.
I would have to say Samantha"s video was my favorite so far. I love musicians because they're always open to dope ideas. They'll totally let you be the artist you are and thats when I feel the most creative. She just let me do what I was feeling and she also had great ideas...it was really a collaborative effort, but she was totally open to my style. And I think the video came out amazing.
Recently you worked on Jive artist Samantha Jade's Music video "Turn Around". Can you tell everyone a little about that experience...
- How was it working on that video?
- Did you do the makeup for every scene?
- How long was the shoot for?
Working on Turn Around was great...we were at an amazing beach house in Malibu and Samantha and her mom are both amazing and talented women, it's always inspiring to work with people like that.
I was the Key artist for that video and I did the makeup for "every" scene. If you pay close attention there are actually 5 different looks.
I believe we wrap on time for that video...I think all in all it was 14 hr shoot.
Whats next for you?
What's next....hmmm well the life of an artist is never planned out. So right now I'm just working with my clients on whatever projects they've got going on.
We're also in the height of awards season...so I'll be doing alot of that.
And of course I hope to be a part of anything Samantha's got going on in the near future.
Thanks for all the interest and please let me know if I can answer any other questions for you!
Besos,
Sara C. Hernandez
